A unified interface for managing all publisher functions.
Since inception our platform has utilised a simple "edit in place" layout for managing content, with administrative functions embedded inside the same public pages that normal users view.
This approach served us well, but reached it's limits as we added more features to our platform and need to expose an ever increasing amount of options.
It also meant compromising between an interface that works well for a publisher and one that works well for a listener. Separating the publisher functions into a central dashboard allow us to improve this interface in ways that would not be possible on our public pages.
Towards this end, we have built a completely new dashboard that unifies all publisher functionality into one modern experience.
From this dashboard users can create, view and manage podcasts and streams hosted on our platform and all other account features.
Goals
We set two primary goals for ourselves:
- Make all the administrative functions used to publish and manage content on our platform available in a central location.
- Deliver a user interface that is more intuitive and makes it easier to find specific information or functions.
We think the new dashboard delivers on these goals in a big way, and we're excited to see how it can optimise workflows for our publishers.
Migration
The new dashboard is available to all accounts while existing publishers retain access to their legacy admin controls for a limited time.
Next steps
The release of this dashboard will serve as the ground work that was needed to deliver even better user experiences for our publisher and listeners alike.
